Synopsis

In the Dominican Republic, the April Revolution of 1965 lives on in the stories of the women who defended it with their bodies and convictions. It also lives on in my aunt Idelcis, whose memory is beginning to fade.

Aquella primavera is a search to reconstruct what is disappearing: the personal memories of a woman who fought in the revolution and the collective memory of a country that minimized women’s participation in its history.

Through intimate testimonies, the documentary seeks to recover a forgotten truth and open an intergenerational dialogue about oblivion, resistance, and the need to remember.

Sinopsis

En República Dominicana, la Revolución de Abril de 1965 vive en los relatos de las mujeres que la defendieron con sus cuerpos y convicciones. Vive también en mi tía Idelcis, cuya memoria comienza a borrarse.

Aquella primavera es una búsqueda por reconstruir lo que se desvanece: los recuerdos personales de una combatiente y la memoria colectiva de un país que minimizó la participación de la mujer en su historia.

A través de testimonios íntimos, el documental intenta rescatar una verdad relegada y abrir un diálogo intergeneracional sobre el olvido, la resistencia y la necesidad de recordar.
